Being a teenager is hard and nobody ever said it wasn-t. You are trying to find yourself and make a name for yourself. Figuring out where you belong in the world while still managing to fit in is a full-time job. For many teenagers, standing out is the last thing they want to do.
So when everyone else is saying yes and doing something that you may not feel comfortable with, it is often hard to say no.The full explanation can be found at http://www.lockergnome.com/social/2011/08/30/how-to-use-social-media-for-health-and-wellness-be-inspired-by-stories-or-indirect-peer-pressure/ Even though you know something is wrong it can be social suicide to put your foot down and stand your ground. But it does not have to be that way. It is ok to say no. In fact, it is much cooler to be your own person and not just do what everyone else is doing.
While it may seem like a big deal now, fitting in really is not all that important in the grand scheme of things. When you look back on yourself as an adolescent you will be proud to say that you didn-t give in to peer pressure when you knew something was wrong. Rest assured that in a couple years, you will have much bigger fish to fry than worrying about fitting in with the in-crowd.
